As I'm typing this (with one hand). I'm currently on hold. I called the Customer Support Hotline so I could get a download code to get Hexic HD back- I lost it because I had to re-format my hard drive.
For those of you that don't know, Hexic HD is a special Xbox Live Arcade game. It's special because
1) It's freaking fun.
and...
2) You can't download it.
(At this point the call just dropped. I wonder why...)
It comes in your hard drive. A freebie from Microsoft saying, "Thanks for buying our product. Since we will now charge you hundreds of more dollars to get the rest of the stuff, we threw in a free arcade game so you can have something to do while saving up all that extra cash you'll have to pony up sooner or later. We prefer sooner. $$$"
The game is seriously fun to play. For a puzzle game it gives an un-expected feeling of accomplishment everytime you see the screen start going off like a mine-field. To find out more about this great game, click on its name in the Good Games List and it will take you to the game's detail page on xbox.com.
So basically, I wanted my Hexic HD back. So I call customer support. I spend about 7 minutes on hold at a time. Three times. That's about 20 minutes of my life wasted listening to elevator music with my phone pressed against my ear.
Scratch out what I said two posts ago about Microsoft's customer service. I checked the forum on getting the download code for Hexic HD. People have reported being told to wait two days to be called back with their code. They waited the two days. They pushed it to five days. Still no call. Eight days, still no call. Only one guy on the topic ever got that code. And I'm assuming that only because that guy was the topic starter. He never said he did.
What the hell, Microsoft? I wanna play Hexic!
Take care and have fun gaming (especially if that game is Hexic HD. Have EXTRA fun with that, for those of us that can't),
